sym·bol·ism

[sim-buh-liz-uhm] noun

1. the practice of representing things by symbols, or of investing things with a symbolic meaning or character.

Take Remember Me as an example. From the paintings which hang in the background of several scenes to the scene in the graveyard where a statue of an angel graces Tyler's shoulder. Symbolism can be found in many places, if one cares to take the time to look.
