I might not have much self-esteem but I sure have proven a heck of a lot to myself over the past couple of years. I'm the sort of person who once they have in their mind that they're uncomfortable with something or can see the negative more than the positive, they would rather not put themself through it, so to avoid the tension and nerves I know there's a high probability I will feel. That said, I know what matters in life; education, travel experiences, money and love. With that in mind I've decided to push myself, and realised that I needn't worry as much as I have done in the past. I can do what I want, I can achieve what's important to me, I can make something of myself.
Education: I was nervous about going to university at 17, largely because of my age but also because it was my first time entering such an adult environment and I was doing so completely alone. I'm glad I did though, because seeing my grandparents and parents express how proud of me they were on Graduation Day is a feeling I can't describe. It's the first time we really celebrated me.
Travel Experiences: I travelled by myself around the world this year, stopping in London, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and America. Travelling gave me new found confidence in myself that I really needed. It showed me I can be "popular" by being myself and that I don't need to put on a front for people to like me. I managed to budget all my finances, plan all of my travel and accommodation by myself and it really showed me how capable I am. When I have noone to help me, I can manage! Not only that, I can make sure I have a damn good time!
Money: Since my travels I've tried really hard to get myself on the career ladder, and finally my hard work has paid off. After extensive testing and interviews, I landed my first real job which I started on the 3rd of December. Training is intense, and I have no background in this job sector, but I'm already proving myself and have been told I'll be "a real credit to the VSC". Now, it's early days but if I keep this up I don't see why I wont progress in some way with this job. This is opening up a whole bunch of new options for me.
Love: This is so important to me. My family have supported every decision I've made this year, and I can't thank them enough for it. Any pressure I felt is now gone, because I know I'm doing what they want me to, and luckily it's just what I want to do too. I'm so thankful for my boyfriend, because I know that without his love and support I wouldn't feel half as good about myself as I do now. This Christmas is ours, in every way, shape and form. I can honestly say, this is the most excited about Christmas I can ever recall feeling. I love you, Michael Kelly.

I'm in such a good place right now. Sure, everyone has their off days - and I know I'm prone to mine, but to look at the bigger picture I can honestly say that I feel much better about myself and my surroundings than I did say... Last summer?
Sometimes I feel as though I could sit here mushing and gushing, but I'm never sure that what I write will be perceived exactly as I intend it to.
The weather outside is pretty grim, it's raining and I can see the tree at the end of the garden swaying in the wind. This doesn't bother me though. I don't plan to go anywhere this evening other than to the fridge or the bathroom. Winter Hannah really is kicking in, and I think my Christmas spirit is making an appearance too.

My blog is officially a year old! This is the longest and most successful diary I've ever kept, and I wonder if the fact that it's electronic has any influence over that. More often that not, pictures express the way I'm feeling and so it isn't always necessary for me to write with every post.
If I look back over the past year, I can honestly say I've never had such an exciting or quite such good time in my life before. Last Autumn/Winter life really picked up for me. I was holding down two jobs, bonding with a good friend, and saving hard to travel the world solo.
In having two jobs I showed myself that I'm a hard-working and capable person, who employers are pleased to have on their workforce. In bonding with a close friend, I discovered that I loved him in a different way to my other friends, and that I wanted him to know that. And as for travelling round the world by myself; with my own money and my own decisions to make, I realised I'm a hell of a lot stronger and braver than I ever thought I was before.
Good things come to those who wait. Life is good, and so I no longer know what I'm waiting for. This prospect excites me.

1. We had incompatability issues. 2. I swapped shoes with a friend because she was wearing heels and I had flats, and her feet hurt. Her shoes were a size too small for me, and I was fairly drunk. I leaned against a wall then leaned forward for a second. I'm not sure if it was the shoes, or the alcohol that made me stagger, and instead of falling against the wall I fell into a recess where a door was. I fell straight back and smacked my head off the ground. Ouchies. 3.I always wondered. 4. He's one of the most genuine and nicest people I know. 5. Friends. Classic choice. 6. Can xx. 7. I'm not sure. 8. There would be far too many to list. 9. Health, happiness and a select handful of people around me. Thanks Santa. 10. Jeans and a top. 11. Many of Horror. 12. Through friends, years ago. 13. I've not many to recall. 14. Travelled round the world, alone. 15. None. 16. Confidence, smiles, soft hands. 17. Being told something by someone, then told something different from someone else... 18. Treat others are you'd like to be treated. 19. I have more than one best friend. How about that I was lucky enough to fall for one, and for him to fall for me right back. Does that count? 20. It really depends. It's not always relevant, it's about choice for the most part. I guess it's really only fair to question it when morals and law come into play. Otherwise, what's to stop two people being together if they feel strongly for one another? 21. Nah. 22.
